Park/Ratheniska Honoured at Leinster Awards Night

Last Friday night was an historic one for Park/Ratheniska GAA Club, as they became the first Laois Club to receive the Comhairle Laighean Club Website of the Year award. The website (www.parkratheniskagaa.com), which has been in existence since 2008 is administered by Brian Ramsbottom and David Kelly who were joined on the night by Club Chairman Har Ramsbottom and Vice Chairman Pat Brennan and partners to collect the award on behalf of the Club.
Park/Ratheniska were praised on the night by Comhairle Laighean Chairman Seamus Howlin as the perfect example of how a GAA Club, and especially a rural Club, can make use of all facilities available to them to publicise and promote themselves. Leinster Council Marketing Manager John Cotter paid tribute to the hard work of Ramsbottom and Kelly and their dedication to their Club, both past and present, which shone through in the site.
Park/Ratheniska Chairman Har Ramsbottom was a proud man on the night, commending his two Clubmen on their hard work in setting up and maintaining the website. “Its a tremendous honour for a Club such as ourselves to be recognised like this. This is an acknowledgement of the whole Club and the manner in which we go about our work. We’re a small proud rural Club and we are always working to drive ourselves forward and upwards. This is just another example of that and I’d like to thank Comhairle Laighean for their help with our developments over the years and we look forward to working with them again in the future.”
